My oh My oh My, everyone I just named above was so essential to the stylish 30s!
Madame Gres, was known for her perfect draping technique
Evening Gowns cut on the Bias, draped, and pleated in grecian style was Madame Gres signature Style.
"The Man who Broke the Rules"-Paul Poiret
Paul was the outcast. he never played by the rules. In 1903 he opened his fashion house, and became instantly known for his Kimono Coat. He constantly changed himself, as he moved from draped gowns, to angular line cut garments
Jeanne Lanvin
Jeanne's useful use of trims, embroideries and beaded decorations became her trademark, if not Thee most influential Designer in the 30's Jeanne ranks in the top 3 in my Opinion. her endless collections of beautiful evening gowns graced many celebrity faces, and magazine during this time.
Elsa Sciaperelli

1930's Inspired Summer Assignment
The 30s
-The 4th Decade of the 20th Century
-The year after the largest Stock Market Crash
-The year of the radio and aviation inventions
And Most Importantly the Year of Glam. Long Gowns were everyday wear. Corsets, elaborate hats, negligees, halter top dresses, and lace frocks.
As I explore the 30's I will create 20 looks/sketches based off my interpretation of the Fashion in the 30's , and make the clothing wearable for women in this day.
